Is BufferMind free?

Yes — BufferMind is completely free for international students until July 2026. Pricing tiers will be introduced after that, but a free tier will always be available.

What languages does it support?

BufferMind translates from 6 source languages into Chinese and 6+ target languages:

Does it work offline?

No. BufferMind uses cloud-based speech recognition (Soniox) and translation (Claude AI) to provide the highest accuracy possible. An active internet connection is required.

How accurate is the translation?

In our internal testing with university lectures (Machine Learning, Biology, Business), translation accuracy is typically above 90% for major languages. Professional terminology is handled by built-in domain dictionaries (Computer Science, Biology, Business).

Can I record on my iPhone and continue on my Mac?

Yes. Sign in to the same account on iPhone, iPad, Mac, or the web — all your recordings automatically sync across devices.

Where are my recordings stored?

Recordings are stored in your personal account on Supabase, an SOC 2 compliant cloud database. Only you can access your recordings. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Can I export my transcripts and notes?

Yes. You can export any session's bilingual transcript and notes from the session detail page. Export formats include plain text and rich text.

Account Management

How do I delete my account?

Open the BufferMind app → AccountDelete Account. This permanently removes all your recordings, transcripts, and account data within 30 days.

If you can't access the app, email ethanho1237@gmail.com from your registered email address and we'll process the deletion within 7 business days.

I forgot my password

On the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot password?" and follow the email link. If you signed in with Google, Apple, or LINE, use the same social provider to sign in again.

Can I change my account email?

Currently not supported in-app. Email ethanho1237@gmail.com with your current and new email address to request a change.
